For the first time, Restaurant & Catering Australia has partnered with the NSW Wine Industry Association to deliver the New South Wales Wine List Awards aimed at recognising licensed restaurants that excel in the provision of wine service and list development. The focus is around showcasing local wines and supporting the local NSW wine and food industries through wine list development.
Restaurant & Catering Australia (R&CA) CEO John Hart says it is great to be at this point where we can showcase NSW wines on NSW Wine Lists.
“It is all about the tourism consumer experience and ensuring that local food and wine are offered together to showcase the local experience.”
“We feel this is a great way to work with restaurant operators and encourage them to have NSW wines on their wine lists,” said Mr Hart.
The Awards are judged on a comprehensive list of criteria. Nominations close on 5 September and must be made via the R&CA website www.restaurantcater.asn.au
For the first time the NSW Wine Awards judging will be hosted in the regions – commencing with Griffith in late September 2014 and rotating round the Wine regions of NSW in future years.
Entries for this year’s NSW Wine Awards close on 29th August. Judging will take place in Griffith on 30 September and 1 October under the guidance of new Chair of Judges P.J Charteris who takes over from Huon Hooke.
