Inside Cuisine writer Natalie Manning might be a berry girl, but I AM a ginger beer lass (as everyone knows.) So next up it’s my turn.
Twisted Sangria from Hilton South Wharf’s Sotano Wine + Tapas Bar is a summer take on traditional sangria. It’s a great drink for entertaining over the holiday season. Here’s the recipe:
Twisted Sangria

400ml red or white wine
45ml brandy
45ml Cointreau
200ml fresh orange juice
100ml fresh apple juice

crushed iceMix the liquids together in a jug or punch bowl.
Top up with real ginger beer.
Garnish with fresh lime, lemon, pink grapefruit and orange pieces.
Serve in a large carafe with crushed ice.

I wasn’t thirsty until I read this. Sweet, tangy and a bit of a kick – I think I’ll serve this for Thanksgiving welcome drinks.
