What fabulous news to receive today about one of my favourite places in the world. Luxury Hamilton Island resort qualia is one of only four properties to ever receive a flawless 100/100 score in the Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards in the 25-year history of the awards, and is the first Australian property to ever top the prestigious survey. Scoring a complete 100 in all categories including Rooms, Service, Food, Location, Design and Activities, qualia has been described by Condé Nast Traveler as “sheer perfection” and “flawless.”
qualia, Hamilton Island’s world class luxury resort on the Great Barrier Reef, has been named the Best in the World and Best Resort in the Oceania region in the 2012 Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards.
I whole heartedly agree! I’ve been lucky enough to stay at qualia to attend one of the fantastic special events: Great Barrier Feast with Chef Peter Gilmore. And just can’t emphasise enough how stunningly beautiful the setting is looking out over the Whitsundays, or how the service is just perfectly attentive and professional yet friendly and relaxing. The food is fantastic at any time of year too. Or, if like me you’re a fan of the Australian Ballet you might like to attend the special Australian Ballet Pas de Deux in Paradise outdoor performance that is held each year at qualia.
“When we bought Hamilton Island nearly 10 years ago and developed the vision for qualia, it was to create a luxury oasis that maximised the sheer beauty of the idyllic location with a standard of service that was uniquely Australian, yet that would meet and exceed the expectations of the most discerning travellers from around the world. This award is testament that we are doing our job.”
Our congratulations to the Oatley family and the team at qualia.
