Renowned chef Matt Moran, owner of the two-chef hat ARIA Restaurant, has designed two exclusive recipes for the annual Pink Ribbon Breakfast campaign, the major fundraising initiative of the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
The two healthy recipes include Buttermilk Pancakes and Raspberry Milkshakes with Matt designing them to include seasonal ingredients that can be sourced locally throughout Australia, a philosophy that has helped make Matt Moran one of Australia’s leading chefs.
As well as owning Aria Restaurant which has prime locations in both Sydney and Brisbane, Matt is the author of three cookbooks and regularly features on national TV, including as a guest judge on MasterChef.
“Cooking can be a drama, and not just on TV. These recipes are simple, nutritious and can easily be prepared with friends or the whole family. The idea is to take the hassle out of breakfast and ensure that as many people as possible around Australia agree to host a Pink Ribbon Breakfast this October or November.
“I decided to show my support for the Foundation when I heard them state that they are aiming for zero deaths from breast cancer by 2030. Can you imagine a world where no-one dies from breast cancer? I’d like to make that a reality and I ask you to show your support as well. Research is key to unlocking the mystery of this disease,” commented Matt Moran.
Pink Ribbon Breakfasts raised over two million dollars for the National Breast Cancer Foundation in 2011, with the fundraising goal this year set at $2.25 million.
