Corner Bar Rozelle

Corner Bar Rozelle has had a transformation. Along one side there’s now a bench and bar stools opening up the interior space of the one time daytime cafe for it’s new night time incarnation. It’s still opened in the daytime on weekends, and Corner bar is now opened Tuesday to Saturday nights – with $14 cocktails, beers, ciders and a good selection of wine by the glass or bottle, and carafes of sangria. I stuck to cocktails on a recent girls’ night out, starting with the recommended cocktail-of-the-moment: the espresso martini. With my love of ginger beer, more than one Raspberry Moscow Mule found it’s place at my table during the night. It slipped down so easily, I didn’t manage to get any further down the cocktail list. Maybe next time?

Night food from dusk ranges from Street Sambos and Share Platters, through Pizza Slabs and Bar Snacks to Salads and Desserts. All are in big hearty portions and reasonably priced.

The winning factor here though is definitely the vibe. My only regret? Rozelle is a cheap taxi ride from home, but not quite walking distance.. Ah well, a girl can’t have everything.. Or can she? Oh yeah – there’s also a to-die-for home made sticky date pudding!
