The Whisky Show Tattersalls Club Sydney

Australia’s biggest ever WHISKY SHOW is being held this month in Sydney. Featuring 18 exhibitors and over 150 different types of whisky from around the world, THE WHISKY SHOW takes place on Friday 20th and Saturday 21st July at Tattersall’s Club, 181 Elizabeth Street, Sydney and will provide you with one of the largest ranges of whiskies on show, and available for sampling in Australia at any one time. Brand ambassadors and producers will be on hand to chat about anything and everything to do with your favourite drop.

A couple of weeks ago, I dropped in at World of Whisky Double Bay to chat with the organisers (and enjoy a dram or two or three or more – as you do.) And indulged in a couple of mighty fine drops. Oh, and of course, found out more about what’s on at the show…

I’ve got the A to Y of whisky in front of me: brands and expressions from Aberlour Abunadh and Ardbeg through Jack Daniels to Yamazaki. There’s pages of them. I’m sure your favourites will be there. I nudged the Glenmorangie at the store tasting and the show lists Glenmorangie: The Original, Quinta Ruban, Lasanta, Nectar D’Or and 18yo. All in the name of research mind you.

In association with the Whisky Show taking place at the Tattersalls Club in Sydney, the organisers are hosting the Glenmorangie cocktail competition. Malt whisky cocktails are increasingly popular and bartenders are enjoying experimenting. For the competition bartenders must create a Glenmorangie cocktail and have it promoted and listed in their bar for the month of July. Competition judges are Dan Woolley (World of Whisky Ambassador), Garth Foster (Brand Ambassador for Moet Hennessy) and Sacha Delfosse (Editor of Bars and Clubs Magazine.)

Just by turning up at The Whisky Show on 20th or 21st July, and purchasing any bottle of Tasmanian whisky, you’ll be in the draw to win a whisky tour of Tasmania. Two very lucky enthusiasts will be treated to a three day luxury whisky tour of the distilleries, courtesy of The Tasmanian Whisky Producers Association.

The Whisky Show will also feature the Australasian Whisky Awards: which aim to highlight the great whiskies being produced in Australia and New Zealand.

Visitors will not only taste the many whiskies available, they can also buy at the satellite store at special show prices!

Tickets are only $50.00 per person per day for online bookings, and $60.00 per person per day for tickets purchased at the door. A special “Designated Driver” ticket is available for $20.00 per person per day.

Come and mingle with visitors and exhibitors alike!
