JAARK by Jaclyn Nichols launches at Pyrmont Good Living Growers market this Saturday 2nd June.
Hanging out occasionally in the kitchens of some of our best Sydney restaurants is (if you hadn’t already noticed) one of my favourite pastimes. It’s generous of our hardworking and talented Chefs to allow me the chance to see what goes on behind the scenes. Pastry Chef Jaclyn Nichols and (Head Chef) Monty Koludrovic are one of my favourite couples. Both work in the Becasse team, and both came through for me with a stunningly beautiful and unique dessert Becasse Treasure Island created especially for the Canon Island photo contest last year. And all of this as a favour to me on their busiest day of the year. I love my food friends.
Hanging out with Monty earlier this week, he gave me the scoop on Jaclyn’s latest project; JAARK launching this week at Pyrmonts Good Living Growers Market.
“We’d love to see everyone down there.”
So here’s another opportunity to try some of the talented pastry Chef’s wares this time in the village spirit of the monthly market. Starting this Saturday 2nd June you’ll be able to enjoy a Saturday morning indulgence at JAARK in:
– Pepe Saya scones with organic rhubarb jam, Pepe Saya butter and mascarpone
– ‘Flying pig bacon’ and leek quiche
– Zokoko hot chocolate with vanilla honey marshmallow
Becasse pastry chef Jaclyn Nichols has worked with the likes of Phillipa Sibbly and Damien Pignolet along the way. Jaclyn played an integral role in the development of the menu at the Le Grande Cafe and the Becasse Bakery and is excited to enter into the Pyrmont markets with a list of proud and exceptional producers.
They will also be featuring the amazing ceramics of www.simonreece.com.au.
(PS if you’re wondering about the name JAARK, it’s a nickname of Jaci’s… )
