The Bar at the End of the Wharf

Last night it was good fun checking out what could be Sydney’s new cool late night destination. Sydney Theatre Company has reclaimed the space at The Bar at the End of the Wharf. Live from London, Andrew Upton and Cate Blanchett bubbled that bringing this space back within the company had been one of their first priorities. With fabulous harbour views to (the newly greened) Luna Park and the Sydney Harbour Bridge we’re sure this venue won’t just be the haunt of theatre go-ers. And it’s not just the yummy snacks from Fresh Catering that will be bringing in the crowds. Ping pong and canned Aussie beer are the new black (or is that sustainable green?). We (and the rest of the media invites) had a fantastic time at the launch party. Bravo STC – Ms Blanchett, Andrew Upton and team – and resident designer Alice Babidge.

Footnote: The new lunch menu is currently available Monday to Saturday between 12pm and 3pm, but from July 2012 will be available every day of the week. Dinner is available 7 days from 5-11pm.
