Sydney Royal Fine Food Show 2012

Sydney Royal Fine Food Show summer competition is underway again for 2012. I was back again this year for a day of judging Breads Cakes and Pies. Yes it was a tough day at the office, I hear you thinking. You’ll think it’s even tougher when I tell you that my judging section was Cakes – including scrumptious layers of Tortes and Gateaux. While the tortes and gateaux were as you might expect, light and delicious, let me not make light of the judging process. Actually, it is tough. Well it’s stringent and detailed to be more precise, with strict and disciplined judging processes, and different marking criteria for each and every category. The judges take both the marking and the comments they provide back to the industry very seriously.
