The Chandon Turf Club returns ~ Melbourne Cup

The Melbourne Cup is known in Australia as the race that stops a nation. While Melbourne itself celebrates with a public holiday on the 1st Tuesday of each November, those of us in Sydney still know how to kick up our heels.

With the return this year of the (invitation only) Chandon Turf Club, Centennial Park was the place to be. In the dress code of “hats and cravats” we walked through a giant Chandon horse-shoe and into a Turf Club picnic with the Chandon bubbles flowing.

My guest for the day, the talented Miss Kate Parry had her photo snapped by Vogue Australia. And while you’ll have to wait for that one, here’s a few of the photos from the afternoon to see what we got up too at Sydney’s best event.

The ladies definitely had their hats on. But fellas … where were those cravats?
