The nightly tradition of watching MasterChef can be a hard habit to break; but the next fix is not that far away. From cooking mains with Michael, hot dishes with Hayden, and sweets with dessert queens Kate and Billy, this year’s line-up at MasterChef Live in October offers all MasterChef disciples a chance to ‘plate up’ with contestants.
“After the wonderful experience of being on the MasterChef set for over 7 months, the contestants and I are excited that MasterChef Live gives us a chance to meet, and cook with, the people who have watched us through our kitchen highs and lows,” says Kate Bracks, winner of MasterChef 2011.
“MasterChef Live 2011 brings the show to life and will allow foodies to experience MasterChef on a whole new level. It’s an opportunity for all budding chefs to skill-up; whether young or old. If you love your food, this is the place to be,” adds Bracks.
Meet your favourite contestants from series one, two and three in the Lilydale Contestants Theatre as they re-create their signature dishes and share the cooking tips that got them through, plus all the behind-the-scenes stories. The Contestants Theatre will be hosted by Justine Schofield from series one.
Stars from the show appearing in the Contestants Theatre and in the Mystery Box Challenge Theatre include 2011 winner Kate Bracks and runner-up Michael Weldon; as well as finalists Alana Lowes, Ellie Paxton-Hall, Billy Law, Hayden Quinn, Peter Vickery and Dani Venn. Past contestants will include Alvin Quah, Adam Liaw, Courtney Roulston and Justine Schofield.
Produced under licence from Shine Australia and now in its second year, this ultimate foodies event will run from 7-9 October 2011 at the Royal Hall of Industries and Hordern Pavilion, Moore Park. The event will provide foodies with the opportunity to cook, learn, eat and shop, while mingling with their favourite MasterChef chefs, judges and contestants.
The three-day event will feature non-stop interactive masterclasses, hands-on cooking schools, junior workshops, Q&As and top quality producers; not to mention the new Mystery Box Challenge Theatre starring MasterChef judges Gary, George, celebrity chefs and contestants.
Apart from the contestants, the star line-up for MasterChef Live 2011 also includes top chefs; Peter Gilmore, Peter Kuruvita, Kylie Kwong, Colin Fassnidge, Vincent Gadan, Greg Doyle, Alessandro Pavoni, Matt Kemp, Miguel Maestre, Dan Hong, Peter Doyle, Warren Turnbull, Tony Bilson, Luke Nguyen, Giovanni Pilu and Adriano Zumbo, as well as Junior MasterChef host, Anna Gare.
Tickets are available from Ticketek at www.ticketek.com.au. Early bird tickets include a copy of MasterChef Magazine valued at $4.95 in the ticket price. * Booking fees apply. For more information on the event visit www.mastercheflive.com.au.
