What a privilege it was judging this year at Sydney Royal Fine Food Show, and just as much as privilege to be invited to the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW, 2011 Sydney Royal Easter Show, Fine Food Lunch.
Hosted by Mr Glenn Dudley, the President of the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW, the lunch was held in the Council Stand (Vincent Fairfax Stand) on Tuesday 26 April (while the Sydney Royal Easter Show was in full swing). It was great to meet the Champion of one of the categories that I judged and to taste some of the other Champion products and the produce from a selection of (Gold, Silver, Bronze) medal winners. Included in the lunch was the 2010 Champion Sydney Rock Oyster, 2010 Champion Barramundi, 2010 Champion Australian Extra Virgin Olive Oil of Show and 2010 Champion Regional Food Product.

The lunch was outstanding and how could it not be when it was based on such very fine produce. I’m really proud to be a Sydney Royal Fine Food Show judge. There’s two Sydney Royal Fine Food Show competitions a year – Summer and Spring. My local cafe pastry shop Locantro Fine Foods proudly displays their 2010 gold medals in the window. And I know that’s the reassurance of quality through a stringent judging process.
